Fall 2026 Issue
There’s something about fall that brings family life back into focus. Backpacks return to the doorway. Weekends fill with games, apple picking, and plans scribbled across the calendar. Dinner needs to happen somewhere between school, work, and practice. The air gets cooler, the house gets cozier, and before we know it, pumpkins give way to Thanksgiving tables.
The Fall 2026 issue of Modern Parenthood Journal is made for all of it.
Spanning September, October, and November, this issue brings together practical ideas, seasonal inspiration, thoughtful stories, and everyday finds designed to make modern family life a little easier and a lot more enjoyable.
As families settle into a new school year, Better Together explores how parents can build stronger relationships with their children’s teachers from the very beginning. In The After-School Hour, we look at that often-overlooked stretch between school and evening and share simple ways to make the transition home feel a little smoother. And The Sunday Reset offers a realistic way to get calendars, backpacks, meals, clothes, and the week ahead in order without giving up half your Sunday.
Fall also means a return to fields, courts, gyms, and sidelines. In Ready, Set, Play, parents will find an age-by-age look at choosing sports and activities that fit a child’s development, interests, and stage of life. The Family Calendar takes a wider look at everything competing for space on our schedules and how families can make room for activities, responsibilities, downtime, and the things that matter to them.
But this isn’t an issue about simply getting through a busy season.
It’s about enjoying it, too.

Inside The Family Table, we’re answering the eternal question of What’s for dinner? with Five Easy Fall Dinners, a cozy Sunday supper, after-school snack inspiration, and something delicious for apple season. Around the house, Come On In: The Fall Home, The Drop Zone, and Cozy Without the Clutter bring together attainable ideas for creating a home that feels warm, functional, and ready for the season.
You’ll also find fall style you’ll actually wear, sideline looks for chilly weekends at the field, kids’ seasonal essentials, a fall closet edit, family wellness, sleep, outdoor inspiration, Editor’s Picks, and plenty of ideas for making the most of an ordinary fall weekend.
Then, of course, there are the celebrations.
Hello, Halloween! brings pumpkins, movies, food, trick-or-treating, and family fun into the mix, while our Thanksgiving pages are all about gathering in a way that feels like your family. In Thanksgiving, Your Way, we’re leaving behind the idea that there is one right way to celebrate and making room for big tables, small tables, treasured traditions, new traditions, really good food, and the people who make the day matter.
One of the most personal stories in this issue, The Mother I Never Expected to Become, explores how motherhood changed one New England mom’s ideas about home, education, wellness, community, and the kind of family life she wanted to create. And throughout the issue, our Book Nook features introduce readers to authors and books worth discovering.
From the first school morning to the last slice of Thanksgiving dessert, the Fall 2026 issue celebrates the season as families actually live it: a little busy, a little messy, often beautiful, and full of moments worth noticing.
Pour something warm, find a comfortable spot, and come spend fall with us.
